WWF-Philippines National Youth Council (NYC)
The WWF-Philippines National Youth Council (NYC) serves as a platform to engage young Filipinos in WWF's mission and nurture NYC members’ knowledge, initiatives, and advocacy.
Since its establishment in 2016, NYC has provided WWF-Philippines with a valuable youth perspective for its programs and outreach and linkages to various youth organizations and initiatives. Some impactful campaigns led by NYC include the Earth Hour Camp, Green Wanderer: Sustainable Travel Fair, Environmental and Sustainability Youth Camps, Legacy Project, and Youth Environment Summit (YES) for Oceans, among others. The NYC continues to be a circle of volunteer youth leaders joined by the shared goal of “Changing the Ending”.
The NYC shall comprise 8 young individuals who have deep interest and engagement with WWF’s mission, have a connection to and passion for the environment, and can add value to WWF Philippines’ objectives.
NYC (batch 4) members commit to being part of the council for 3 years (January 2024 – December 2026), with the option to extend their term for another 2 years within the age limit of 16-24 years old.
