Nestlé for Ipo

July 2017

A longstanding partner of WWF-Philippines, Nestlé Philippines held a tree planting activity last July 18 at the Ipo Watershed in Norzagaray, Bulacan. The area is one of our project sites on water security called Forests for Water. Together with corporate partners like Nestlé, the goal is to rehabilitate the forests around the watershed in order to minimize erosion and siltation, helping ensure uninterrupted water supply for millions.

The partnership project kicked-off last July 18, 2017 with the planting of 2,000 trees at the site. The event also launched a volunteer engagement program where Nestlé employees are encouraged to prioritize volunteerism as a key component to their Corporate Shared Value.

In attendance were Mayor Geronimo Cristobal Jr. of Norzagaray, Bulacan; Jacques Reber, CEO & Chairman of Nestle Philippines; DENR Undersecretaries Marlo Mendoza, Noel Felongco, and Analiza Teh. From WWF, President/CEO Joel Palma, National Ambassador Marc Nelson, and Forests for Water Project Manager Paolo Pagaduan.
