Cleanup Under the Sun

September 2017

Another corporate partner amps up their commitment to the environment by joining this year’s International Coastal Cleanup! On September 9, 50 employees of Sun Life Foundation led by Executive Director Kristine Millete, went on a coastal cleanup in the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area, a small island by Cavitex Highway which happens to be a bird sanctuary as well as the last wetland in Metro Manila.

The event was headed by WWF-Philippines Environmental Education Head Mr. Ruel Bate, who gave a briefing before employees went straight into the cleanup action. Sun Life Foundation is a long-term partner of WWF that has funded multiple projects such as water security in the Ipo Watershed as well as Earth Hour Village livelihood in Masbate.
