Gamer Girl Power! Liga Adarna is WWF-PH’s newest Now Loading: Gamers for Nature partner
November 2020
All-female gaming league Liga Adarna is set to launch a series of online playthroughs for a cause as the newest gaming partner of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines’ for the Now Loading: Gamers for Nature campaign.
With the importance of environmental conservation and the nature’s impact to human health relevant more than ever, League Commissioner Let Perez encouraged their followers to help #ChangeTheEnding for the planet.
"Unlike our life online where we have multiverses and multiple worlds to explore, in reality, we only have one world, and we have to do our part to preserve and protect it. We are one with WWF to create awareness and fight to change the ending," said Perez, who is also known in the gaming community as Queen Wasabi.
“We are very excited to be partnering with WWF. As someone like me who does work remotely most of the time, and living in my online world, it is very easy to forget the reality of what our world is becoming. This advocacy is a good reminder that we only have one world we live in and we need to take part in taking care of it," she added.
Launched in March 2020, Liga Adarna is a franchise-based esports league for women that aims to bring together and nurture women in esports. Talents from the group’s all-girl roster will stream special Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, Valorant, and Dota 2 playthroughs on Liga Adarna’s official Facebook page starting this November to raise funds for the organization’s environmental education initiatives. The initiative also aims to provide aid for the fisherfolk of Lagonoy Gulf, which covers the Provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes, whose homes and livelihood were ravaged by Super Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses.
Liga Adarna is powered by mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc., its official telco partner, which has a longstanding advocacy to promote esports and bring subscribers closer to their passions.
WWF-Philippines is set to hold more playthrough streams for the gaming community in the next few weeks to help #ChangeTheEnding for the environment. Stay tuned to WWF-Philippines’ official social media pages for the complete lineup and schedule.
